Richard Pearce is an architect, designer, creative director and futurist. His work focuses on the relationships between humans, technology and the integration of intelligent objects within complex urban environments. 

The synthesis of ideas generated across interconnected disciplines explore the role that design plays in enhancing people's lives.

CASTELLI x R – A / D
This collaboration between Castelli + R – A / D is an encounter between disciplines, blending ideas around structure and movement to create innovations with a new and distinct style code.  Castelli and R–A/D have worked together for a number of years including the iconic 2017 Team Sky kit design that referenced the team’s victories through a visual data representation of dashed lines that became the visual identity of the team.

WORLD OF VOLVO / FUTURE SENSE
Future Sense is an immersive installation using sensing technologies that encourage visitors to think about how people and machines perceive and respond to the world around them. Future Sense consists of three interconnected artworks that deconstruct the perception process to investigate how machines see — and how we see what they see.

By suggesting the possibilities of a more intuitive relationship between human senses and those of machines, Future Sense looks forward to the potential positive impact on safer interactions between people and vehicles in a future where technology and mobility become increasingly connected.

BURBERRY / RODEO DRIVE 
A celebration of the freedom of imagination, a transformational takeover of the Burberry Rodeo Drive store creates a journey through spaces that are unique and unexpected in their sound, texture, and experience.

Based on RIccardo Tisci’s presentation ‘Animal Instinct’, inspired by the idea of shifting between infinite possibilities of fantasies and realities - the exterior facade of the building is enveloped by a kaleidoscopic abstract print, evoking forms of camouflage in bubble gum pink, black, and white - a reference to the vivid curved prints that feature in the womenswear and menswear collections.

PRADA MODE
Prada presented the seventh iteration of Prada Mode at Genghis Cohen featuring an immersive installation by the artist Martine Syms, to coincide with Frieze Los Angeles.

A traveling social club with a focus on contemporary culture, Prada Mode provides members with a unique art experience along with music, dining, and conversations. Prada Mode Los Angeles occupies Genghis Cohen, the iconic restaurant and music venue on historic Fairfax Avenue. The location is transformed by the artist Martine Syms with the interactive installation titled “HelLA World.”

CARTIER / MAGICIEN 
An experiential, spatial installation design for the Asian launch of 'Cartier Magicien', the brand's 2016 haute joaillerie collection. The exhibition took over the Tokyo National Museum and a series of gala events for V.V.I.Ps held at Art Factory Jonanjima.

Light plays a key role in the design concept whilst the challenge lay in creating a contemporary yet subtle concept without eclipsing the Cartier Magicien collection itself. Three key 'expressions' guided the creative concept from the experience of entering the museum, the exhibition and overall Gala event.

TOM DIXON x AUDI / 
ETCH WEB

Created for the launch of the Audi A8 at Design Miami 2009, Etch Web was designed to be voluminous, lightweight and transparent. The intricate metalwork creates a dense and decorative series of shadows on surrounding surfaces reminiscent of natural light filtered through the leafy screen of a forest canopy.

This project was an exercise in narrative to create an installation that expressed the brand attributes of Audi (science, technology, maths and materials) through a quintessential Tom Dixon design - a polyhedral object.

Richard Pearce is an architect, designer, creative director and futurist based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 

Richard's work intersects architecture and design with a particular interest in researching the relationships between humans, technology and the integration of intelligent objects within complex urban environments. Richard applies strategic thinking and design expertise to create unique and intelligent solutions that examine the role design plays in enhancing people's lives.

His work broadly spans across four interconnected disciplines;

1 — Architecture
2 — Design
3 — Creative Direction
4 — Futurism

The synthesis of ideas generated across these disciplines is expressed through experiential design projects for Cartier, Nike, Burberry, Prada & Volvo – automotive and interaction design for the Ford Group – architecture & product design for Tom Dixon and Audi plus the design of restaurants for Jamie Oliver. Richard has also worked with leading design agencies including United Visual Artists, Deepend, Poke and Imagination.

Richard is also a passionate cyclist and has been involved with the sport throughout his life, initially racing across multiple disciplines, including BMX, Track, Cyclo-Cross, MTB and Road. He later Co-Founded CHPT3 with David Millar and has also designed apparel and products for Castelli, Fizik, Brooks, Team Sky, Factor, Pinarello, Colnago, Kask, gravel privateer Nathan Haas, POC and Brompton.
